I’m coming straight from music class to go to language arts. I have to rush over because of the limited time between periods. I am running so fast that I trip and drop all of my books. By the time I pick them up, the bell rings and I end up late for class. As a result, I am given a detention. We need more time between clase periods.
Students in the hallway need more time if they are running late from a class. It takes time to grab books, go to our lockers, and then get to class. Out of the whole school I believe that almost every student would want to have extra time to get situated. Students should not be rushed by the bell. This may also lead to students forgetting stuff in their lockers or I have timed it. On a normal day between classes, it takes about two-and-a-half minutes. It takes even more time if students are coming from the church, music room, or gym.
Another reason students need more time is if they need to go to the bathroom or if they need to get a drink. This is better than a student interrupting a class. Students should have more of a chance to socialize in the hallways instead of the classrooms. If given 3½-4 minutes of time between periods, we would easily be able to get to class and have time for other things as well.
